Thanks to Culture Days, this weekend is packed with activities and opportunities for your children and teens to get creative and learn something new!

On Friday (2-3 p.m.), kids and adults of all ages are welcome to have fun with poetry and music. Featuring poet-singer Honey Novick, enjoy an interactive workshop with performance and reading elements.

Saturday features four more exciting events:

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., children 10+ are invited to learn how to use milk carton paper to create art and make books. Registration is required, so don’t delay if you’re interested!

From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., children and adults of all ages can learn to make your own, unique accordion-style book out of simple materials.

School-aged children and teens who are interested in webcomics can attend an interactive discussion and tutorial from 2 to 4 p.m. Hosted by artist Jenny Zhan, you will get to try your hand at writing, drawing, and participating in the group!

Finally, for the young urban explorers out there (aged 2-8) and their families, award-winning artist and author Cybele Young, along with Chris Reed and Rani Sanderson of Small Print Toronto, will be leading a short, guided walk around the Lillian H Smith branch and then teaching you how to make a book based on your observations. This workshop (2-4 p.m.) is free, all materials will be provided, but space is limited, so make sure to register!
