D&M Files for Bankruptcy Protection

D&M Publishers (including Douglas & McIntyre and Greystone Books) has filed a "Notice of Intention to make a proposal under the provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act." D&M is one of Canada's largest remaining independent publishers, and has vowed to "carry on its operations during this restructuring process."
