Calling All Writers Ages 8 to 12

Are you a writer between the ages of eight and twelve? Or do you know a writer between the ages of eight and twelve? We have some great news for you. From our friends at Small Print:

"...there’s still time (and space) for Writers 8-12 to sign up for the Volume One Project – Test Pilot on Sunday (Nov 22).

Natalie Kertes ran literary workshops for young people with renowned author Roddy Doyle at Fighting Words Dublin. She will join forces with local artists to develop an indigenous variation on their group-writing exercises. At the test pilot, Kertes will work with celebrated YA author Natale Ghent and noted author and illustrator Evan Munday.

After starting the tale collectively, the kids will split up and create its second half on their own. Kertes, Ghent, Munday and the Small Print team will provide budding scribes with as much (or as little) assistance as they like. At the end of the session, kids get to take home their very first book.

HOW DO I ENROLL?

We ask students to send us a short reply (2-5 lines max) to the question: Why do you want to take part in this workshop?

It is not a writing contest. The first fifteen kids to contact us will be registered for this session. Others will be kept on file for future installments. Simple as that.
