Insomniac Press Fall Poetry Launch

Tomorrow night: It's the Insomniac Press Fall Poetry launch. This is good, you should go. Facebook tells me many a fabulous personage is considering maybe perhaps almost attending. I might go, but the event is taking place on the Danforth, which is very far away. So it is possible I could get all bundled up and count out my subway change and stand gazing dubiously out the window at the dicey weather for a while, and then lose heart at the last minute. I'm always pretty close to losing heart frankly. I lose heart at the drop of a hat.

ABOUT OLIVE SENIOR:
As a poet, fiction writer, journalist and editor, Olive Senior is one of Canada's most internationally recognized and acclaimed authors. Winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize for her fiction collection Summer Lightning and a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award for her poetry collection Over the Roofs of the World, her body of published work includes four books of poetry, three collections of short stories, and several award-winning non-fiction works on Caribbean culture. She divides her time between her native Jamaica and her home in Toronto.

ABOUT ROSEANNE CARRARA:
Roseanne Carrara is the author of A Newer Wilderness (Insomniac Press, 2007). Her poetry has won the Malahat Long Poem Prize and been nominated for a National Magazine Award among other honours. She lives in Toronto where she is currently completing a doctoral degree at the University of Toronto.

ABOUT CATHERINE GRAHAM:
Catherine Graham is the author of The Watch (Abbey Press, 1998), Pupa (Insomniac Press, 2003), and the forthcoming collection The Red Element (Insomniac Press, 2008). She lives and writes in Toronto, where she teaches creative writing and designs and delivers workshops on creativity for the business and academic communities. She is also the Vice President of the non-profit organization Project Bookmark Canada, which works to place fictional text in our everyday geography.
