Queen's Park Circle was packed with authors, publishers and readers on Sunday, September 23rd for The Word On The Street, Canada's biggest book and magazine fair. The strange weather that day — one moment it was hot and sunny, the next, cold and rainy — didn't deter people from enjoying the many wonderful readings, activities and sales.

Women Behind the Lens: A Tribute to Feminist Filmmaking - This Weekend at The Female Eye Film Festival

On Saturday, October 20, Sumach Press, The National Film Board of Canada, and The Female Eye Film Festival presented Women Behind the Lens, a tribute to feminist filmmaking (1974 - 1996) with author Gail Vanstone reading excerpts from D is for Daring: The Women Behind the Films of Studio D, Studio D film clips, and the Canadian Premiere of Women Behind the Camera, a documentary about women DOP's from Hollywood to Bollywood by Alexis Krasilosky.
