Four fabulous women writers appear at the Fictionista Reading Series in Toronto

It’s so not about the shoes. Unlike Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, these four Fictionistas are over Manolo Blahniks and Cosmos. Sure, they’ll be offering their audiences stories about sex and relationships when they read at the Victory Café at 7 p.m. on June 19, 2008 — only with a lot more humour, sass, irony, adventure travel, and… ghosts.

"SKYE OR MIRANDA OR VERANDAH": VARIATIONS ON KEVIN CONNOLLY'S 'PLENTY'

Is original authorship possible? Does true art only exist in the act of interpretation? At what point does homage become theft? To shed some light on such aesthetic conundrums, Kevin Connolly offers up his poem "Plenty" for plunder and plagiarism by artists from a variety of disciplines. From Connolly's acclaimed new collection, Revolver (House Of Anansi Press), "Plenty" will be the main source of ideas, inspiration, letters, words, sounds and images for the artists – and for the audience.
