The Royal Alexandra Portfolio by Edward Burtynsky was commissioned by David Mirvish to mark the theatre’s 100th anniversary in 2007. The photographs are included in The Royal Alexandra Theatre: A Celebration of 100 Years by Robert Brockhouse (McArthur & Company), and will be editioned strictly limited to photographs and portfolios ordered before May 31, 2008. Curated by Eleanor Johnston.

Karen Patkau, author and illustrator of Creatures Yesterday and Today (Tundra Books, 2008) and Creatures Great and Small (Tundra Books, 2006), will have her illustrations from the two books on exhibit at the Yorkville branch of the Toronto Public Library, 22 Yorkville Avenue, for the month of June.

Bloody Words VIII, Canada’s largest gathering of mystery readers and writers, is on June 6 to 8 at the Eaton Centre Downtown Marriott Hotel.

Guests of Honour at the event are Rosemary Aubert and Carolyn Hart. The MC is Anthony Bidulka.

The winner of the Hammett Award will be announced at the Bloody Words Banquet.

Toronto Noir co-editor Nathaniel G. Moore hosts a night of readings with Peter Robinson, RM Vaughan and Andrew Pyper at the World's Biggest Book Store (20 Edward Street, Toronto).

Andrew Pyper's fourth and latest novel, The Killing Circle, is slated for publication in August, 2008.

Peter Robinson's next book is the nineteenth Inspector Banks novel, All the Colours of Darkness, set for an August, 2008 release.

RM Vaughan's latest book is Troubled, published this spring by Coach House Books.
