The Royal Alexandra Portfolio by Edward Burtynsky was commissioned by David Mirvish to mark the theatre’s 100th anniversary in 2007. The photographs are included in The Royal Alexandra Theatre: A Celebration of 100 Years by Robert Brockhouse (McArthur & Company), and will be editioned strictly limited to photographs and portfolios ordered before May 31, 2008. Curated by Eleanor Johnston.

Karen Patkau, author and illustrator of Creatures Yesterday and Today (Tundra Books, 2008) and Creatures Great and Small (Tundra Books, 2006), will have her illustrations from the two books on exhibit at the Yorkville branch of the Toronto Public Library, 22 Yorkville Avenue, for the month of June.

Jacob McArthur Mooney (The New Layman's Almanac, McClelland & Stewart) reads as part of the Elora Writers' Festival. The readings will be followed by a dinner at the Drew House, Mill St. East, Elora. Also reading are Diane Flacks, Laurie Gough, Helen Humphreys, Edeet Ravel and Rio Youers.
