The Royal Alexandra Portfolio by Edward Burtynsky was commissioned by David Mirvish to mark the theatre’s 100th anniversary in 2007. The photographs are included in The Royal Alexandra Theatre: A Celebration of 100 Years by Robert Brockhouse (McArthur & Company), and will be editioned strictly limited to photographs and portfolios ordered before May 31, 2008. Curated by Eleanor Johnston.

All three authors then take part in a round-table discussion on the subject of Sacred Space, moderated by Lisa Rapoport. Mark Kingwell is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto, a contributing editor to Harper’s, and the author of ten books, including Marginalia: A Cultural Reader and Nearest Thing to Heaven: The Empire State Building and American Dreams.
