The Royal Alexandra Portfolio by Edward Burtynsky was commissioned by David Mirvish to mark the theatre’s 100th anniversary in 2007. The photographs are included in The Royal Alexandra Theatre: A Celebration of 100 Years by Robert Brockhouse (McArthur & Company), and will be editioned strictly limited to photographs and portfolios ordered before May 31, 2008. Curated by Eleanor Johnston.

Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with the Toronto Public Library. The library is featuring the recently published Reel Asian: Asian Canada On Screen (Coach House Books, 2007). The event is hosted by the book’s editor Elaine Chang and will feature recent work from filmmakers Nicole Chung (Wilson Leaves Home), Khanhthuan Tran (Good Luck Counting Sheep) and Midi Onodera (Slightseer). Following each short film, Elaine Chang will interview the filmmakers. On Tuesday, May 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Agincourt Branch of the TPL (155 Bonis Avenue).
