Catherine Graham's third collection of poetry The Red Element will be published by Insomniac Press in 2008. She is the author of Pupa (Insomniac Press, 2003) and The Watch (Abbey Press, 1998). The Royal Alexandra Portfolio by Edward Burtynsky was commissioned by David Mirvish to mark the theatre’s 100th anniversary in 2007. The photographs are included in The Royal Alexandra Theatre: A Celebration of 100 Years by Robert Brockhouse (McArthur & Company), and will be editioned strictly limited to photographs and portfolios ordered before May 31, 2008. Curated by Eleanor Johnston.

Part of the Life Writing Series from Wilfrid Laurier University Press, this book a collection of stories from Margaret and Jim Norquay's seven years in Mayerthorpe, Alberta in the early 1950s. Told with affection and gentle humour, the stories cover the challenges, heartaches, and delights of a young community and a minister and his wife in a very new marriage.

Johanna Skibsrud, author of Late Nights With Wild Cowboys (Gaspereau Press), and Karen Houle, author of During (Gaspereau Press), are reading at the LitLive Reading Series on May 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sky Dragon Centre, 27 King William Street, Hamilton.

Johanna Skibsrud’s poetry has appeared in various journals, including The Antigonish Review, Prism International, Lichen and Exile. Originally from Meadowville, Nova Scotia, she currently lives in Toronto.
