Toronto crime writer, Rick Blechta (A Case of You), has been chosen to be this year's Guest of Honour at Genrecon, taking place on Saturday, May 3rd. This interesting and eclectic one-day conference is held every year in Sarnia, ON, hosted by the Lambton County Library. The name comes from the fact that all categories of genre fiction are included: crime writing, science fiction, fantasy, horror, romance, experimental writing, etc. Panel discussions are always interesting and very eclectic with lots of audience participation. Best of all, it's free!

Morley Torgov, author of such Canadian classics as The Outside Chance of Maximilian Glick and St. Farb's Day, and a recipient of the Order of Mariposa by the Leacock Society for lifetime achievement, has begun a new series of historical mysteries, based on the lives of famous composers of the mid 19th century.
The first in the series is officially launching on May 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto. The novel is called Murder in A-Major and the plot revolves around a mysterious off-key A on the piano of Clara and Robert Schumann.
