Catherine Graham's third collection of poetry The Red Element will be published by Insomniac Press in 2008. She is the author of Pupa (Insomniac Press, 2003) and The Watch (Abbey Press, 1998). The Royal Alexandra Portfolio by Edward Burtynsky was commissioned by David Mirvish to mark the theatre’s 100th anniversary in 2007. The photographs are included in The Royal Alexandra Theatre: A Celebration of 100 Years by Robert Brockhouse (McArthur & Company), and will be editioned strictly limited to photographs and portfolios ordered before May 31, 2008. Curated by Eleanor Johnston.

Come to a tea and presentation by Kathy Knowles, founder of Osu Children's Library Fund (OCLF), a not-for-profit organization in Ghana that connects African children to the joy of reading. The OCLF creates libraries, stocks them with culturally appropriate books, and provides literacy classes for children and adults. Raffle tickets will be selling for $1. On April 1st, buttons will also go on sale for $1 in the Claude Bissell lobby from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.. These events are hosted by YPFIS. Alex Herman got his BA from Trinity College Dublin. In Dublin, he was on the executive committee of Amnesty International and wrote for the Trinity News. He is from Toronto but currently attends McGill Law School.

Coach House Books invites you to NicholBack, an evening celebrating bpNichol’s work. Last fall, Coach House published The Alphabet Game: A bpNichol Reader, edited by Darren Wershler-Henry and Lori Emerson. The launch of the website bpnichol.ca is this spring, and Open Letter is devoting two issues to bpNichol’s work. The celebration is at Supermarket, 268 Agusta Avenue, Toronto on Wednesday, April 2 at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.
