Nadine McInnis is the author of six other books, including Quicksilver (short stories), Hand to Hand (poetry), and Poetics of Desire: Essays on Dorothy Livesay. Her work has appeared in a variety of journals, including The Malahat Review, The New Quarterly, Event, and Room of One’s Own. She lives in Ottawa where she teaches in the Professional Writing Program at Algonquin College.

On December 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., The Dundurn Group (in partnership with the Ontario Historical Society) is having a book reading event. Great Canadian Roadtrips with Roy Macgregor (The Canadians), Ray Robertson (What Happened Later) and 2007 Giller nominee Michael Winter (The Architects Are Here) at St Alban's Chapel, Royal St. George's College (free parking on site).

Mayworks Festival of Working People is holding a poetry marathon fundraiser on January 1, 2008 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity at 10 Trinity Square in Toronto. More than 60 poets will read over five hours. Admission is $5 to $15, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Children are welcome, the event is wheelchair accessible, and food is available for sale.
