Annual TSAR Book Launch
TSAR Publications is celebrating their 2007 titles on December 3 at The Gladstone Hotel. The launch is featuring Rozena Maart, H. Nigel Thomas, Irene Marques, and the Masala Trois. Cash bar and free snacks. The readings start at 7:30. Book sales and signing.
Rozena Maart’s new novel, The Writing Circle, tells the story of five women who gather every Friday night to discuss their writing lives. A brutal and violent attack is forced upon the women and each must deal with it in their own way. The novel is narrated by all five women in their individual styles. Rozena’s previous book was the bestselling novel Rosa’s District 6
H Nigel Thomas’s new novel, Return to Arcadia, is the story of Joshua Éclair—victim of a pygmalianism gone awry. Emerging from amnesia in a hospital in Montreal, he must explore what makes him want to erase his identity, and must undertake the process of exorcising what has brought him to this pass. This is the gripping story of a man’s search for sanity. Nigel’s previous book was the acclaimed Why We Write: Conversations with African Canadian Poets and Novelists.
Irene Marques’s first collection of poetry, Wearing Glasses of Water, combines the real with the imaginary, the logical with the intuitive, the mystical and the mythical, and brings together different geographical, temporal, and cultural spaces to explore spiritual alienation and the nature of being.
